

Funeral services for Mr. Omer D. Goolsby, 86, of Whitleyville,
TN, will be held at 2 P.M. on Wednesday, April 4, 2018, at
Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro,
TN. Burial will follow in the John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery in
the Stone community of Jackson County, TN.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4 P.M. - 8 P.M.,
and Wednesday from 10 A.M. until time of services.
He passed away on Saturday, March 31, 2018, at his residence.
He was born April 27, 1931, in Gainesboro, TN, to the late
Fowler Goolsby and Cynthia Goolsby. On January 21, 1955, he
was married to Lucille Goolsby, who survives. He was a member
of the North Springs Church of Christ, and served in the U.S.
Army during the Korean War.
He farmed, and owned Goolsby's Service Station in North
Springs. He also worked at the Pepsi Plant in Cookeville, and at
the Livingston Chocolate Plant until he retired at 80 years old.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1
Son: Richard "Ricky" Eugene Goolsby; 3 Brothers; and 1 Sister.
Survivors include his Wife: Lucille Goolsby of Whitleyville,
TN; 1 Son: Randy Goolsby of Whitleyville, TN; 2 Daughters:
Regina Goolsby of Carthage, TN, and Amanda (Larry) Dillard of
Elmwood, TN; 5 Grandchildren: Jesse Presley, Kaleb Ashburn,
Kobe Ashburn, Tina (Cavin) Gudat, and Kelsey Ashburn; 1
Great Grandson: Jackson Whittemore; 2 Brothers: Buddy
(Minnie Lou) Goolsby of Gainesboro, TN, and Aaron (Winell)
Goolsby of Sparta, TN; and 4 Sisters: Estelene (Ed) Nemore of
Cookeville, TN, Sue Bilbrey of VA, Ida Mae Carter of
Whitleyville, TN, and Jean Long of Gainesboro, TN.
Bro. Jimmy Anderson will officiate at the services.
